That is why, at Arrosi, we are expanding our range of sack-sealing solutions with a new product: paraffin-coated polyester thread for industrial sewing.
A solution designed to work on both fixed-head and portable machines, and compatible with the leading bag-sewing machines on the market.
A thread designed for industrial sewing
Arrosi’s new thread is made from 100 per cent polyester, with a count of Nm 20/4 (Ne 12/4) and S twist.
However, one of its distinguishing features lies in its finish: it incorporates a 7–8 per cent paraffin treatment, specifically designed to improve its performance during machine sewing.
This finish enables:
- Reduced needle heating when working at high speed.
- Improved thread glide through the needle eye and guides.
- Minimised thread breaks during production.
- Extended needle life and a reduction in machine downtime.
In industrial processes where sewing is carried out continuously, these characteristics can be particularly important for maintaining stable line operation.
Compatible with various stitching systems
Arrosi’s paraffin-coated polyester thread is compatible with the leading brands of sack-sewing machines, including: Fischbein, Newlong, Union Special, Siruba, Yao Han and Thar, as well as equivalent machines.

A solution for different sectors
Paraffin-coated polyester thread is a natural complement to crepe paper edging for sealing and sewing sacks, and can be used in various industrial applications.
These include:
- Agri-food industry: animal feed, cereals, fertilisers and seeds.
- Food industry: flour, sugar, milk powder and pulses.
- Chemical industry: charcoal, plant protection products, additives and foaming agents.
Furthermore, the product is suitable for food contact, in accordance with EC Regulations 1935/2004 and 10/2011; it complies with REACH regulations, is free from bisphenol A and is UV-resistant.
